The SurgiScheduler Calendar can be easily customized to reflect the terms you use in your business.

The default SGS calendar uses the following labels which can easily be changed as needed to fit your business:

Event level labels. (An event is a item that displays on the monthly or daily calendar view. It can be a surgery block with multiple patients and procedures. It can be a meeting with multiple attendees. Or it can be any other type of scheduled time and place event that you need to track for your business.)

Coordinator. The coordinator uses the calendar to schedule activites a group of medical practitioners. In the default calendar this is a nurse or practice coordinator who is arranging for the services of Surgeons. The values for coordinator must be set up ahead of time by the calendar administrator by setting up log on users for the calendar. During scheduling the log on session name is used as the coordinator. Administrators may schedule on behalf of other users by picking from a list of users.

Last Time. In the SGS calendar the duration is the last time slot in a block of time for a scheduled event. The default label is 'Last Time' as shown. This event-end-time and the event-start-time, 'Time', entered when an event is created, determine how many time slots appear in an event detail.

Scheduled Event. In the default SGS calendar this is labeled 'Scheduled Event' and indicates is the type of activity an event block covers, typically Surgery, Clinic Appointments, Meeting, etc.

Location. This is the geographical place where the service requested is to be delivered. In the default calendar these are hospitals. Some other possible terms are: Facility, Building. The values for location must be set up ahead of time by the calendar administrator. During scheduling they are picked from a list.

Surgeon. This is the individual who delivers the service. In the default SGS calendar these are surgeons. Some other possible terms are: Specialist, Nurse, Operator. The values for technician must be set up ahead of time by the calendar administrator by setting up log on technicians for the calendar. Administrators assign technicians to events by picking from a list and technicians use the calendar to check their schedules and to confirm their availability. Administrators may also make an event an 'open case' and technicians use the calendar to request assignment to open cases.

# of Cases. The label for the element that holds the patient count for events which contain patient lists.

optional extra field if needed. In the default SGS calendar there is one optional field available at the event level. It is available for implementation if another data element is required at the event level.

Patient level labels. (These labels are used in the patient detail level within an event.)

Default patient level labels. (These are the elements and labels as set up in the default calendar.)

Time. The label for the time that the patient/procedure is scheduled. The default is 'Time' and is a pop-up menu using the time values in the range of the event start-time to end-time.

Procedure. This is the type of activity for which the service is needed. In the default calendar these are operating room medical procedures. Some other possible terms are: Shift, Job Description, Work Order, Service Call. The values for procedure must be set up ahead of time by the calendar administrator. During scheduling they are picked from a list.

Asst. This is an optional patient level element indicating an 'assist' assignment for a procedure. The default is 'Asst' and is a pop-up menu using the 'Initials' values as set up in the Calendar view maintenance - 'Set Surgeon values' screen.

Insurance. The default label is 'Insurance' and is a pop-up menu using the values in the 'Carrier' table. The values for Insurance/Carrier must be set up ahead of time by the calendar administrator. During scheduling they are picked from a list.

AM Admit. This is an optional patient level checkbox indicating a yes-or-no condition of some kind relative to the procedure. The default label, 'AM Admit', is to capture whether this patient is being admitted the same morning the procedure is scheduled.

Optional patient level labels. (These elements are not in the default calendar but may be easily added during configuration.)

There are four additional text elements that can be added to the patient details. Each of these elements can hold up to 35 characters of text. The labels can be whatever you desire. Some examples of extra patient level text elements are:
Film Loc. To capture the location of the films for the procedure.
Admit or Pre-Op. To note specific details around the pre-op or admit process.
Confirmed by. To record the name and contact information of the hospital staff member confirming the scheduling of the procedure.
Cert #. To record an insurance related authorization code for this procedure.

There is on extra yes-or-no checkbox element available at the patient level. The label can be whatever you desire. An example of an extra patient level checkbox element is:
Repeat. To record whether this procedure is being done a second time.
